Kiwanis Club of Kahului
History
Before electricity and automobiles there was the Kiwanis Club
of Kahului. Oh...sorry...wrong story. Actually, our club was
formed through the hard work and determination of community
minded individuals who saw the need for another Kiwanis club
in the central Maui region. We were sponsored by the Kiwanis
Club of Maui back in 1959.
Not that many years ago Kiwanis was a male only organization.
We were the first in the nation to sponsor a club for girls.
We were also the first in the nation to elect a woman as club
president.
Kiwanis Club of Kahului is sponsoring the Key Clubs at Maui
High and King K High.
